About Me

I am a visual artist based in Sheffield, UK with a degree in Painting and a Masters in Fine Art. I work in a variety of media including painting, digital drawing and moving image. My work is based around ideas about the contemporary landscape and my experience of it. I am interested in the romanticised landscape, space and place, the graphic language of advertising and the city, and the potential relationships between these things. I am also fascinated by the relationship between text and image. The work becomes a visual mash up of these disparate references. It uses landscape as a vessel to hold this amalgam of ideas, observations and anxieties and creates a new visual language that speaks to its context of the contemporary environment as well as alluding to another more fragmentary reality.
